Well beyond 14 days following the shocking loss of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the pair.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced spending more time together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without joy".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles court official agreed to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the LAPD.

A court order issued a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" associated with the active case.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

After the deaths, public figures expressed different reactions.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his perspective to the those speaking out last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan described the comments as "disappointing" and remarked they demonstrated a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by proposing that an adviser could have acted when the impulse to comment on the passing was made.
